ColorofChange.org sent out this very informative information on the Murder of Oscar Grant that we thought was important to share.
On New Year’s Eve, Oscar Grant was shot execution-style by a transit police officer in Oakland, California. He was shot in the back while face-down on a subway platform, unarmed and posing no threat.
Twelve days later–despite several videos showing what happened–the officer who killed Grant hasn’t been arrested, charged, or even questioned. He quit the force and has refused to speak. The District Attorney has done nothing.
It’s time to demand that California Attorney General Jerry Brown take over the case and arrest Grant’s killer, and to ask that the US Department of Justice launch an independent investigation into the conduct of the local authorities. Please join us and ask your friends and family to do the same: http://www.colorofchange.org/oscar/?id=2347-520201
Oscar Grant is the third man murdered by BART (Bay Area Rapid Transit) police in the past 17 years. All three victims were Black and none posed a serious threat. In each case, BART and county authorities have failed to hold the officers accountable.3
In the previous cases, BART’s internal investigations concluded that the officers felt threatened by the victims and were justified in pulling the trigger. It’s unbelievable given the circumstances of the killings:
- In 1992, 19-year-old Jerrold Hall was shot in the back by a BART officer as he tried to leave the parking lot of a station. The officer was responding to reports of an armed robbery and said he suspected that Hall and a friend were involved. The officer tried to detain the two, Hall ran and then the officer shot him in the back and killed him. Hall was unarmed, but the officer said he thought Hall was on his way to get a gun and return for a showdown.4
- In 2001, a mentally ill man named Bruce Seward was the next victim of the rogue force. Seward, 42, was naked and had been sleeping on a bench outside the BART station when an officer approached him. Seward did grab the officer’s nightstick at one point, but there were several options for subduing him. Instead, the officer shot and killed him.5
In addition to BART’s internal investigation, Alameda County’s District Attorney is also investigating Oscar Grant’s murder–but the office’s record on investigating police killings is horrible too. In both cases just described, the District Attorney bought BART’s argument that the officers felt threatened. As a result, the cops were cleared of any wrongdoing. Continue reading

Christmas is a little less merrier this year with the loss of Eartha Kitt, diva and legend. She was the ultimate Catwoman. I loved her in Boomerang playing Lady Eloise. “Marcussss, Darlingggg!” Too Funny. Rest in Peace
Yahoo – Dec 25, 2008 – A family friend says Eartha Kitt, a sultry singer, dancer and actress who rose from South Carolina cotton fields to become an international symbol of elegance and sensuality, has died. She was 81.
Andrew Freedman says Kitt died Thursday of colon cancer and was recently treated at Columbia Presbyterian Hospital in New York.
Kitt, a self-proclaimed “sex kitten” famous for her catlike purr, was one of America’s most versatile performers, winning two Emmys and getting a third nomination. She also was nominated for two Tony Awards and a Grammy.

“You’re Not The Voice Of A Generation. With All That Auto-Tuning, You’re Not Even The Voice Of Your Own Album”
[I can’t get this to embed so here is the link]
Umm…Wow! That electronic voice crack…that had to hurt. I have to agree the FreeCreditReport.com guys really do say alot about this generation. My question though…are Kanye and Stephen in the same generation?? Are they talking about the same generation? I’m not too sure of that.
I didn’t know they had beef. Interesting.
CNET is reporting – Will Colbert’s ‘Operation Humble Kanye’ work?
If you caught his show on Monday or Tuesday you know he is asking for the Colbert Nation to go on iTunes today at exactly 5 p.m. EST to purchase his album, A Colbert Christmas: The Greatest Gift of All. Currently, Kanye West has the No. 1 album on iTunes and Colbert is peeved. (His is No. 15.) Thus, he wants us all, at one moment, to collectively catapult his album to the top. It’s not to help Colbert, he insists, but to humble Kanye.
He said, “I want boots on the ground, and do your Twitter blogging to each other and get it all together–whatever you kids do. It’s important.”
I know this is way off topic, but I have to post this…hilarious!!!
LMAO!! I can’t breathe!
“What were those ingredients again for the moose chili?” That is my favorite line from this video. Oh my goodness! Does this PAC think that this crazy video is going to help Palin? It’s like seeing someone run down the street naked. It’s really interesting for the momment, but after you’re just like, “WTF, was that.” That’s how I feel after watching this. WTF?
The Our Country Deserves Better PAC has begun running spots in Alaska — two 60-second ads, and two 30-second versions — that pay tribute to Palin, with plans to expand the ad buy to the rest of the country sometime this week.
“Governor Palin inspired millions of Americans by fighting for common sense conservative principles in a positive and uplifting manner,” chief strategist Sal Russo said in a statement. “I worked with President Ronald Reagan since his first days in the California Governor’s Office, and I can tell you that I see so many similarities between President Reagan and Governor Palin.”
The 60-second Thanksgiving-themed spot — which comes days after footage of a Palin interview on a turkey farm hit the airwaves — also points to the Alaska governor’s fondness for moose chili as a turkey alternative.
The PAC — which sponsored the “Stop Obama Now” bus tour during the campaign season — said it plans to spend at least $50,000 airing the ads in Alaska. It has not yet released details of the ad buy on national broadcast and cable networks.

LOL LOL! My God this is too funny. I loved this skit. Beyonce was very good and Justin was too funny.
Note: I posted this with a DailyMotion link and it got shut down. Apparently the video is getting taken off of YouTube too…I don’t know why they didn’t post it to the NBC site. We’ll see how long this one stays up.
