Did the General steal Pants on the Ground from another old rapper?

Oh my Buddha!  I can’t believe “the General”, of American Idol fame, stole his “Pants on the Ground” song from some other old rappers.  Well, now those old hip hoppers have posted their original song to YouTube (watch it below).  We should have known.  He sounded like he barely knew his own song, but I think people just chalked it up to alcohol.  I know I did.

I think the original, “Back Pockets on the Floor”, is even funnier.  It’s at least more complete…lyric wise.  My favorite line from the song is, “Ain’t no way in the world/ that a man’s crotch/ could be that low!”  Oh, I’m still cracking up right now as I’m typing this.

American Idol in my hometown: Kansas City

Oh Lord, I’m so afraid.  MMMMMMM!  I just started watching.

I know there will be a lot country music voices!!!

Good grief…some of these people look terrible.

Ok, ok…let me just watch.

(Watching)

8:19pm OH GOD…Why did these show all of these people screaming.

8:25pm David Cook needs to buy his mom a Real Dooney bag.  That bag is good and fake.

8:27pm Let’s change blind to death.  LOL

8:28pm God, he sounds good when he’s not screaming.  Bring it DOWN!!  [Thank God they let him in.  He needs the training…but he’ll be a killer on the mic.]

8:45pm LOL at the Banana dance.
Wow, what is the age limit this year.  Matt, this bald guy with the beard, looks old. *watching*….oh lord “Ain’t no sunshine” is not a good choice if you don’t have a strong voice.  LOL…Randy..”Awww, Matt”.  Kara is an idiot, and so is Paula…and so is Simon.  OH, when did Simon ever go for Heart.?!?!?! What?

8:50pm Jazz, really.  “Somewhere over the Rainbow” in about 3 different keys.  Sigh.  She’s from Nebraska.  No real reflection on KC…thank goodness.  Dag, she just walked out?

8:51pm Awww, 93 year old grandma.  I hope Jessica does well *watching*
Strong voice!  Not everyone can do Janice J.

Not cookie sisters…no lord.  no

9:00pm No rapping on American Idol.  Musiq’s Love…good choice girl…but India didn’t blow me away.

9:04pm Oh, Jamar is not playing.  He can sang!!!

Danny better be the bomb the way they are pumping up his sob story.

9:10pm Oh Lord, his wife died.  Wow, that did live up to the hype.  That is a shame.  Channel that grief…do it for your wife! *watching*
Danny has some nice raspy soul…Paula is over doing it…OH…I think they’ve been prepped.  They are saying too much.

9:13pm The Girls of Kansas City….shocking.

9:15pm NupeDog…very smart.  OH, where did he get that voice.  He can sang with his Indian self.

9:17pm Signed, sealed, deliver me, Lord from this terrible montage of singers.

[ok i’m done.  Going to listen to Oprah’s webcast on Spirituality]

WTF: Jennifer Hudson engaged to I Love NY 2’s “Punk”

Um…what? When??? Huh? (I thought I’d tell you guys about a some very, very light news today to break up all this election stuff)

Actress, singer and former American Idol contestant Jennifer Hudson is engaged to David Otunga, aka Punk!

“I can confirm that Jennifer got engaged to her boyfriend David on Friday night in L.A.” her rep tells People.

Otunga, a Harvard Grad who tried to win Tiffany Pollard’s heart on a VH1 reality show (I Love New York 2), popped the question with a Neil Lane diamond ring on the Dreamgirls Oscar winner’s 27th birthday. [source]

Is she crazy? I mean it’s not as shocking as Mariah and Nick Cannon, but it’s unexpected. On the show it just appeared that he wanted to be seen…that he wanted to be a star. I mean, he seemed nice enough, but I don’t know. Eh, it’s her choice, so I wish them a happy life together.

Black Woman Watching American Idol

It’s season 7 and exploitation comes to mind as I’m watching the American Idol auditions that took place in Philly this summer. I can’t believe how people who watch the show, and love it enough to want to tryout don’t understand that the producers are just looking for people who are awful. They want the non-singers, the funny looking folks, and the “freaks”. People that the general public has no problem laughing at and making fun of. These are the people who will be on the worst of the worst recap show. They will show up in your email inbox during the course of the next few weeks in the form of .mpg files, downloads, and Youtube links.

Here is my recap. Continue reading
